How this Substack is organized and how to read it
This Substack is a public record of how I prepare for, document, and reflect on local government. Some posts are timely updates tied to City Council activity. Others are structured reflection series that follow a regular cadence.
This page explains how everything is organized and what to expect.
Current Updates
This is the primary, ongoing feed on the homepage.
Here you’ll find:
Summaries and documentation of City Council meetings as they occur
Follow-up notes when additional context or clarification is needed
Occasional updates related to city business that benefit from timely explanation
Posts in this section are published as events happen rather than on a fixed schedule.
Reflection & Preparation Series
These series are more structured and are best read in order. They live in their own sections to keep the main feed focused and readable.
Series 1: Who I Am (Before the Title) — Mondays
A reflection-based series focused on mindset, preparation, and early assumptions. New posts are published each Monday beginning January 5, 2026.
Series 2: How I Think About… — Tuesdays
This series examines how I think through information — including sourcing, verification, and how conclusions are formed. New posts are published each Tuesday beginning January 6, 2026.
Series 3: What I’m Learning — Wednesdays
An exploration of how local government operates in practice, where misunderstandings often arise, and how structure can vary from city to city. New posts are published each Wednesday beginning January 7, 2026.
Series 4: Before the Vote — Thursdays
A behind-the-scenes look at how I prepare for meetings — reviewing agendas, reading packets, tracking changes across readings, and identifying decision points. New posts are published each Thursday beginning January 8, 2026.
Series 5: Before I’m Sworn In — Fridays
A time-bound reflection series documenting preparation and expectations prior to being sworn in, focused on learning and boundaries rather than outcomes. New posts are published each Friday beginning January 9, 2026.
A Note on Tone and Intent
This Substack is not a campaign outlet and not a space for making promises or pre-decisions. It exists to document preparation, learning, and process — publicly and transparently.
This page is updated as new sections are added.
